Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Rayyan was never found without a crayon or pencil in hand, scribbling, doodling and painting for hours at a time. He completed a degree in graphic design at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and inspiration for his work is drawn form a myriad of avenues including graphic design, comic books, animation, video games, fine art, grafitti and street life.

This results in an eclectic blend of portraiture, illustrations and murals. The artist is playing with serious issues such as war, corruption and mass surveillance in the raise of ubiquitous technocratic society, juxtaposed by this often playful characters dotting the walls of the urban landscape.

His most recent body of work featured alongside some of Dubai’s most prolific street artists as part of the Urban Art DXB exhibition hosted by Vandalist Art.
